Khablan residents allege village is without power for last 40 days | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Mar 25: Locals from Khablan ,situated on road side on Rajouri-Thanamandi road in Thanamandi today held a protest demonstration in front of Office of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri against the district administration and Power Development Department (PDD) alleging unwarranted 'blackout' for the last more than 40 days. Led by Akram, Mushtaq, the protestors said that about 40 days ago many transformers including main feeding transformer of their locality got damaged in the Thanamandi due to lightening and since then the area is under unscheduled 'blackout'.Protesters said that they held several meetings with the concerned authorities (AEE and JE concerned ) but no action was initiated to mitigate our problems thus compelling the to stage a protest. They warned the authorities to restore power supply within next two days otherwise people will again be forced to close Rajouri-Thanamandi road. Meanwhile Mohd Saleem Malik, ADC while talking to some reporters said that order to install transformer has already been communicated to the PDD officials and soon the people of village Khablan will be provided routine power supply for any in and the transformer their village. |
