Leopard reportedly mauls minor 3/26/2015 12:33:28 AM Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 25: A leopard that accidently had ventured into a remote village Larkuti under the jurisdiction of Police Station Kotranka has reportedly killed a minor girl (7yrs) while she was playing in the open place near her house."The deceased has been identified as Tehmeena Kosar d/o Rehamat Shah of village Larkuti in Kotranka in Rajouri district, police sources said. Police sources said the girl was attacked by the leopard when she was playing in open alone on Tuesday late evening i.e. 7:00 pm. The leopard mauled the minor to death before the family members come out of the house after hearing her cries, sources said quoting aggrieved family members. They said that the mutilated body of the girl was left behind when predator disappeared in the forest when the family members and locals raised alarm, they said. After getting information, the local police rushed to spots and after legal formalities police handed over the body of minor to family members for her last rites. Meanwhile Wild Life Department sources said that the intrusion by the human being into the habitation of wild life and mass deforestation have increased the man-animal conflicts these days. Earlier in January this year, a minor girl Rubia (7 yrs) was also killed by the leopard in this area when a leopard dragged the girl inside the forest while she was playing in open.
