Five cops face music over 'dereliction of duties' 3/26/2015 12:36:14 AM Kathua, Mar.25: Taking action against dereliction of duties among police particularly when district is put on high alert, Superintendent of Police (SP) Kathua placed two constables under suspension who were found absent from their duties at Police barricade Londi Morh Kathua while the services of three Special Police Officers (SPOs) were disengaged. The suspension order came in the wake when border districts Kathua and Samba witnessed simultaneous terror attack while search operations continued along International Border as the twin districts are on high alert and five cops were found absent from their duties.During surprise visit in last couple of days, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kathua Neeva Jain found two SPOs and one constable absent from night duty at Londi Morh Check post which was the major route of infiltration of suspected armed intruders. Taking strict action against erring cops she placed them under suspension. During similar surprise visit at the premises of revered Sukrala Mata Temple Billawar one SPO and one constable were found absent from duty too were placed under suspension. While taking serious action against cops, SP Kathua suspended both the constables while the services of all the three Special Police Officers (SPOs) were disengaged. Pertinent to mention that DGP J&K has instructed all ranks and files in Police to be alert during duty hours especially during night duties .Meantime Additional Superintendent of Police Kathua, Nasir Khan confirmed the suspension and said the surprise visits will be continued in days to come to ensure security.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
