J&K may see more Samba and Kathua-like terrorist attacks | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 25: Two heavily armed terrorists in Army uniform stormed in to a police station in Kathua district of the Jammu region on Friday, Mar 20 and killed two policemen in a gunfight which lasted for hours. The gunbattle claimed lives of two CRPF personnel, a state police constable and two civilians. It was the first terror attack in Jammu since the PDP-BJP government came to power, but sources suggest that the state may witness more such attacks in days to come. Intelligence Bureau in Jammu and Kashmir have issued an fresh alerts on the very next day of a possible lashkar sponsored 'fidayeen' attacks. According to the alert, Pakistan Army is aiding terrorists and several other to infiltrate into state. It also said that the IB have felt the presence of 18 militants of Hizbul Mujahideen militants who may infiltrate between before 30th of March. The BSF troops on Wednesday, Mar 25 morning foiled two infiltration bids by terrorists in this area. A senior police officer told, "BSF troops noticed some suspicious movements in the wee hours of Wednesday near two of its border outposts. Alert troops fired at the suspicious persons forcing them to retreat back", officer said. |
