BANIHAL, Mar 26: "Excess of everything is bad," this proverb aptly suits a village in Banihal Tehsil where five schools are functioning within the radius of zero kilometer. Village Duligam, which is three kilometers away from Banihal town, have five schools functioning within zero kilometer of distance. Reports said that Government Primary School Duligam, Gousia Sultani Mehmood Academy Duligam, Government Primary School Gugthal functioning near a nallah of Duligam, Government Primary School Koja Mohalla Duligam and a newly established Green View Public School Arpura Duligam. Due to the functioning of excess school and least student ratio in the area, low enrollment is being recorded in three government schools of the village. The people of the area are demanding full implementation of education norms for running of new schools in the area. The opening of new schools in the area within zero kilometer of distance creates a major problem for proper functioning of three government schools which are already suffering from low enrollment as only 80 students are enrolled in three government schools of Duligam. |
