NMC urges CM to release DA installment 4/8/2015 10:57:59 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 8: President National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged the Chief Minister to release the pending installment of 6 per cent DA due from January last in favour of its employees and pensioners on the forthcoming international festival of May Day in cash as the same installment of DA as has been released by the union cabinet to its employees and pensioners yesterday. In statement issued here, Shastri said that in view of increasing prices and inflation, the release of DA installment has become more necessary adding that since there is already budget provision by the Finance Minister for the year 2015-16 budget, so there should be no hitch for the State Government in releasing this installment. Delay in such matter is also not in the interest of state exchequer, he added. Shastri also expressed his grave concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay and pension which forms part of the recommendations of the 4th Pay Commission implemented since January Ist 1986. He said the Government is duty bound to merger of DA into basic pay/pension and constitute fresh commission on agreed principles.
