Jammu, Apr 8: A team of Legal Metrology Department under the supervision of Dy. Controller Enforcement, V S Sambyal has conducted checking of shopkeepers dealing with meat and chicken in the areas of Gujjar Nagar, Jewel, Janipur and adjoining areas.
According to press release, during the course of inspection nine meat and chicken sellers were found indulged in less delivery of meat to the consumers.
All the violators were booked under the relevant provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act, 1997 and fined for Rs. 6500 on spot by the Controller Enforcement. While other traders, who have not displayed rate list in their trading premises were served warning and directed to display rate-list conspicuously in their trading premises for the benefit of consumers. |
