J&K Govt says no to fixing charges for hotels, banquet halls, farm houses

Jammu, Apr 8: State government today said that there is no proposal to fix rates, tariff or charges being charged by hotels, farm houses, banquet halls, etc for marriages and other related functions operating in Jammu province.
The information was given by the Minister for Agriculture G.N.Hanjura on behalf of the Minister Incharge Housing and Urban Development Department while replying to a question raised by Naresh Kumar Gupta. Meanwhile, in reply to another question, Minister for Roads and Buildings Altaf Bukhari said that work on 4-laning of road from Srinagar to Kupwara between 6.75 to 14.20 Km taking off from Parimpora junction to Narbal junction and double lanning work between Km 14.20 to Km 55.00 (Baramulla) has been taken up for execution by BEACON and the work is in progress.
He said that the work on Baramulla-Kupwara double lanning has been completed and at present there is proposal under consideration of BEACON for four lanning of the remaining stretch of the road, which falls under their jurisdiction. He further said that the road stretch from Sangrama to Kulangam via Sopore is being maintained by R&B Department and a Detailed Project Report for four lanning of the stretch of the road is under formulation.
Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar on behalf of the Minster for Relief & Rehabilitation informed the House that the government has recommended a rehabilitation package to the Centre for flood victims who suffered losses to their business establishments during September, 2014 devastating floods. Minister was replying to a question by Dharamvir Singh Oberoi in Legislative Council today.
The Minister said that as and when the package is approved by the central government it will be disbursed to these victims accordingly. He said the government is also contemplating to provide some relief to these flood sufferers out of Chief Minister's Relief Fund, whose business establishments were not insured.
