Jammu, Apr 8: Demanding withdrawal levy fees by National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) at Bantalab Nagrota and Thanikhui Vijay, All Jammu and Kashmir Transport Welfare Association (AJKTWA) will be held one day strike on April 9. Addressing the media persons, chairman of AJKTWA TS Wazir said that the NHAI forcefully collecting toll tax at Bantalab at the rate of Rs 375 per bus, truck per trip, Rs 200 per mini bus per trip and Rs125 per taxi per trip which is totally un-justication with the transporters, general publice, tourist and pilfrims of mata Vaishno Devi for Katra. "We are already suffering losses due to the operation of Train, DMU from railway station Jammu to Katra, Udhampur, recent devasted flood, disturbances on LOC, due to which the owners are facing a lot of problems and hardships and not able to deposit the fees, taxes and loaners of different banks, financial institutions deprving them from livelihood, " he stated. He further said association approached various times to state government, NHAI, Transport Commissioner for withdrawal of said toll tax but all in vain. He alleged that the State Government enforcing to take an agitation path. |
