Delegations meet Bhasin, appeals govt for interim relief to affected farmers | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 8: Various delegations of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) workers and leaders met General Secretary, Sh Daman Bhasin and expressed concern over the widespread damage to standing crops due to heavy rains and hail-storm in different parts of Jammu region. Deputaion led by Satpal Singh Charak and Chatter Saini told Bhasin that the heavy rains and hail-storm has damaged standing crops in Bishnah, R S Pura, Samba, and other areas of Jammu. They appealed the govt for immediate relief to the affected farmers and urged the Revenue Department to depute teams to the affected areas for carrying out survey to assess the losses. "Till the time assessment is made, preliminary assistance in terms of free rations and agricultural inputs are needed to be provided to the affected farmers", PDP leaders said. They also sought restoration of damaged road network due to rains especially in far-off and remote areas. Bhasin assured the leaders and workers that their genuine cause will be taken up at appropriate levels for immediate redressal. Meanwhile, another delegation of Rajouri disrict comprising of Imtiaz Bandey, Tazeem Dar, Tahir lone, Choudhary Shafi, Nisar Ahmad, Sanjay Kumar, Master Bagwan Singh and others also met Mr Daman Bhasin and discussed the party and political affairs of the district. They also expressed their concern over the widespread damage to standing crops due to heavy rains in different parts of Rajouri district. |
