Axe finally falls on CEO Budgam, attached with DSEK

Jammu, Apr 8: Taking cognizance of the reports on corruption and nepotism in the Kashmir Education Department that evoked public outrage, the Government has finally acted and the erring CEO Budgam has been transferred and attached with the office of Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK).
The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Budgam Nazir Ahmad Dar has been transferred and attached with DSE Kashmir Vide Government order No: 145 -Edu of 2015 dated 04.04.2015 a copy of which is available with Early Times and in his place Mohammad Afzal Sheikh has been now posted as new CEO of Budgam.
Earlier Government was mulling to initiate action against the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Budgam as he has been found involved in making appointments through backdoor in the district.
The officer had also regularized the services of fourteen backdoor appointees and that had made his case fit for initiating a departmental enquiry/ suspension.
The former CEO Budgam Nazir Ahmad Dar is facing several cases of corruption which are pending with the Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK). According to sources the VOK may also seek sanction for prosecution from the Government enabling them to prosecute the said CEO .
It has been more than six months since the Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) registered corruption case against the Chief Education Officer (CEO) for regularizing the services fourteen backdoor appointees in Budgam district , but till date the said officer had relieved by the Government. In addition to this case the CEO is facing inquiry in one more case of making illegal appointments while he served as chairman of district recruitment committee for class IV employees.
The ex Chief Education Officer (CEO) Budgam Nazir Ahmad and 14 other officials were found involved in large scale irregular appointments and misappropriation of funds in Education Department by an inquiry Committee formed under the directions of former Chief Minister. The Inquiry was initiated after a complaint was filed before the CM's office.
"The Vigilance Organsation Kashmir filed a formal case in this case against the CEO and other officers , but the Omar Abdullah lead Government Govt didn't bother to even transfer the erring CEO Budgam " said Fayaz Ahmad (name changed) who works as Govt teacher in Budgam district.
The ex CEO Budgam Nazir Ahmad Dar in a fresh case is being alleged to have taken money for making class IV th appointments in District Education Department recently. Last month job aspirants staged a massive protest against corrupt Chief Education Officer Budgam Nazir Ahmed Dar and alleged that the said officer received money in lieu of class IV appointments in the district.
