Thathri student wins presidential elections of NIMS university Rajasthan | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Apr 17: A student from Thathri Doda has won the presidential election of NIMS University Rajasthan. Sajjad Rehman Sheikh son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh Resident of Thatri in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir perusing degree of Physiotherapy from NIMS University Rajasthan won the university student President election by defeating his nearest rival Rakesh Meena of Jaipur with a narrow margin of 6 votes. The election was conducted by the NSUI unit of the state. The election for other posts were also held which include the three posts of Vice President on which Keshav, Gaurav Malik and Rajesh Singh were declared winners, while Nidhi, Charanjeet Singh, Sahil Thomas Massey were elected as General Secretaries, Guddi Kumari, Rayees, Rashid Ahmed and Zia ul Islam were elected as Secretary. While talking to "Early Times" over phone from Rajasthan, Sajjad Rehman said that it is a proud movement for him and his team to win the university student elections that too in Rajasthan and by a Jammu and Kashmir student hailing from remote area of Doda district. He said that the aim and objective of choosing university politics is to work for the betterment of the students studying in the university and was hailing from different states of the country. He said that by his win he and his team want to prove that Jammu and Kashmir is fertile land that is producing good and qualitative politicians who are serving the nation in one or other way. He said that he will work with zeal and zest towards providing better quality education to the students for which he will press the university authorities time and again. he said that he will also take everyone on board who wins the election as well as to those who lost the elections. "It will be a collective effort from all of us to fight for the cause of the student community" said Sajjad. |
