Release, arrest of Alam a drama | | | Mishu Gupta Early Times Report Jammu, Apr 17: The release and arrest of 2010 Kashmir riots mastermind Masrat Alam is an exercise to befool people of the state, particularly Jammu, and it seems to be the beginning to mobilize the separatists in a big way in the Valley. Bharatiya Janata Party ideologue and political advisor to state president Hari Om termed it as an act in camouflage done by the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who first released the 2010 unrest mastermind under the 'healing touch' strategy and let him spew venom against India and then ordered his arrest under 'unlawful activities'. "The Chief Minister was asked by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to take stern action against the separatist leader who organized an anti-India rally and was planning to orchestrate street protests in Kashmir," said prof Hari Om. Masrat used Indian soil to hoist Pakistan flag, glorify terrorist Hafiz Saeed and incited people to raise pro- Pakistan slogans which amounts to sedition, said Hari Om adding that merely arresting such a dreaded person under the 'unlawful activities' is just eyewash and he should be tried for sedition. They (government) are pitching for bigger separatist mobilization in the valley. Both the coalition partners are allowing space for sedition in the state which no democratic country would ever do. While Mufti's ideological commitment is well known in the valley, BJP is groping in dark in Jammu," said Panun Kashmir chairman Ajay Chrungoo. He said Mufti knows his perspective related to separatists in Kashmir and the state. BJP is far behind in understanding the nationalist approach towards Kashmir which is proving counter productive. Former Congress minister Sham Lal Sharma termed it as a 'fixed game' between the Peoples Democratic Party and Bhartiya Janta Party. He said the entire 'drama' was a mutual understanding between the both as none of the parties are capable of giving good governance to the state. "Both of these parties are raising such issues which can pose a serious threat to the state and country," Sharma said. He alleged that the wrong policies of the present dispensation have encouraged the anti-national elements, who are vitiating the peaceful atmosphere in the state. "BJP used to accuse Congress of being soft towards terror and separatists when it was in opposition. After assuming power in JK it has become a mute spectator and has not objected to the soft policies of the present Government towards separatists and militants," he added. |
