BJP-PDP mishandles Masarat Alam issue | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 17: The Congress has said that the public anger forced the BJP-PDP to act against the separatist leader Masarat Alam who got ample opportunity to vitiate the atmosphere in the valley, due to initial mishandling of the issue. Reacting to the development in this regard, PCC Chief Spokesman Ravinder Sharma said that Masrat Alam had made known his intentions of intensifying the anti-India campaign categorically clear, soon after his release but failure on the part of state and centre government provided him ample opportunity to challenge the sovereignty of the country in Kashmir resulting into encouragement to such forces in and outside Kashmir. The dilly-delaying tactics and dragging of feet on the issue by the state and centre government, despite large scale concern in the context of his public outburst, has caused severe blow to the national interests. The public anger across the length & breadth of the country has forced the governments to act, for the time being, but their approach towards anti-national forces and the hollowness of the Kashmir policy of the present dispensations have been exposed. |
