| Ajaz Jan seeks immediate relief for Poonch fire sufferers | | |  Early Times Report
POONCH, Apr 17: Senior National Conference leader and former MLA Mr Ajaz Jan on Friday expressed anguish over callous approach of the administration in in failing to reach out to fire-sufferers, whose properties were gutted in a fire incident in Poonch.
Interacting with the sufferers and expressing his solidarity with them Mr Jan said that National Conference will take up the issue of their compensation and interim relief relief at appropriate levels.
Mr Jan said the government must take appropriate initiatives to help the fire sufferers and enable them to resume their avocations at the earliest. He deplored the delay by the government and said whenever shuch unfortunate incidents used to take place during the National Conference led dispensation, the sufferers were never let wanting. "But the scenario now is different, with the elected representatives and the government showing scant concern for those suffering.
The former MLA also urged the district administration to take appropriate measures for providing relief to the sufferers.
He was accompanied by the local party functionaries besides several Panchs and Sarpanches.
The fire sufferers, belonging to minor community, apprised the former MLA about the incident and hoped that their sufferings will be mitigated soon. |
