JAMMU, Apr 22: A delegation of J&K Temporary Teachers Association (JKTT) led by Vicky Saini called on President JKPCC Ghulam Ahmed Mir at PCC Headquarters, Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu, today and apprised him about their problems and genuine demands. President JKPCC gave them a patient hearing and said that these teachers have been appointed for the academic session-2014 by the government as time gap teachers on academic arrangement on the fixed salary of rupees three thousand (Rs. 3000/-) per month and now the government is disengaging them from their services. He (Mir) said that they are the sole bread earners of their families and are meritorious candidates. Their selection is on same pattern as of ReTs. Moreover, most of them are at the verge of over age. Since there are more than sufficient vacancies in the department of School education and keeping in view the matter on humanitarian basis, they should be adjusted on the basis of ReTs, added PCC President. Earlier, the delegation approached PCC General Secretary Namrata Sharma in this connection. Later, PCC Chief Spokesman Ravinder Sharma and PCC General Secretary Namrata Sharma visited the venue of their dharna near Press Club and extended solidarity with agitating candidates. Sharma asked the police administration to desist from coercive methods with them, as lift the 'Shamiana' at the site. He described it very unfortunate and uncivilized behavior the government. |
