| Alleging harassment by SPO health employee goes on strike | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Apr 22: Alleging no justice from senior police officers to take action against an SPO who allegedly is harassing him, a Health Employee today started hunger strike from at his working place Health Sub Centre at Baljaralan under Kalakot Medical Block.
Irked over police's casual approach to take action against erring SPO, the victim Roshan Lal has decided not to take food and also abandoned to shoes/chapel in protest while to go on duty or for any domestic work since April 7.
Roshan Lal resident of Saranoo under Police Station Rajouri has alleged that he along with some other villagers has become a victim of reign of terror being initiate by one Special Police Officer (SPO) namely Pritam Lal ,who is also a resident of this village.
"The said, SPO having hands in glove with others who Impersonate his colleagues as senior police officers are involved in land grabbing and money extortion cases and even lodging fake cases against innocent villagers," said Roshan Lal.
Several complaints were brought into the notice of senior police officers including SHO, Rajouri ( the SPO is posted at Rajouri Police Station) but no action was taken against him for the reasons better known to police department, said Roshan Lal. He said that he alongwith other persons victims met AK Attri, DIG Rajouri-Poonch on March 6, who issued instructions to SSP to investigate the matter but all is in vain. Later he again called in DIG Rajouri Poonch and informed if no action was taken against the erring SPO on or before April 22, he will will go for hunger strike. "In the morning today Capt Mohan (Retd) contacted concerned Dy SP, he informed that he needs two more days to finalize his report, Rohan lal said adding, "so I decided to go for hunger strike. |
