Shun diversionary politics: Rana to PDP-BJP coalition | | | Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Apr 26: National Conference on Sunday asked the PDP-BJP Government to get started and concentrate on governance rather than resorting to diversionary tactics on one or the other issue. "Nearly two months are a sufficient cooling period and now the Government must address to vexed issues confronted to the State", Provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana said while wrapping up day-long deliberations of the party functionaries' convention at Udhampur this evening. He said after getting entangled between themselves over contentious issues, the two coalition partners were now indulging in anti-people activities in order to abdicate their responsibilities from governance. The Provincial President referred to sense-less measures like New Recruitment Policy and outsourcing of police recruitment and said these exploded the myth of Coalition Government's 'Ache Din' and 'Healing Touch' rhetoric. He lauded the Governor N N Vohra for coming to the rescue of over six lakh youth by saving them to come to streets to struggle for their legitimate rights. The insensitivity shown by the government on such critical issues speak volumes their concern for the youth who form majority of the State. Rana complimented the party cadre in generating awareness among the youth about sinister designs of the coalition government and hoped that they will get further rejuvenated in highlighting the hard pressed problems confronted to the people. The Provincial President exuded confidence that National Conference units across the State will galvanize the party and plunge into public domain for raising forceful voice against anti-people measures. He said the attempts made during the past two months in vitiating the atmosphere has impacted economic activity and tourism flow, which a state like Jammu and Kashmir cannot afford. He said the peaceful era heralded by the Omar led government had instilled a sense of confidence among the people as also those visiting the state, especially the valley to enjoy nature's beauty and bounty. The convention was attended by District and Block functionaries and senior leaders of the party. |
