Inter-School Football Tourney concludes at Katra 6/6/2015 11:00:27 PM Early Times Report KATRA, June 6 : 2-day district level football tournament, the first one in this mountainous district, for boys U/14 & 17 years of age concluded here today at Delhi Public School (DPS), Katra, in which ten teams from the Government as well as the Private institutions participated. DPS Katra emerged winner in Under/17 Group while Government High School Nomain as Runners-Up. Under/14 yrs Boys category, Amba Kids Home Panthal beat Govt. High School Nomain. While speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr MK Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), Katra highlighted the importance of sports for generating cohesive and amiable social order. He said SMVDSB is making all-out efforts for creating sports infrastructure and facilities for the exploiting of young sporting talent in the district in particular. Director Sports SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar while speaking on the occasion, said that sports sharpens the physical as well as mental abilities of the players.
