Charak, Aziz, Vakil refuse to respond show cause notice | Action unlikely against rebels Congressmen | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 6: After serving show cause notices to three rebel leaders for their alleged anti-party activities, the disciplinary action committee of Pradesh Congress Committee is unlikely to take further action against the trio, who have refused to tender apology or even respond to the notices. According to the sources, all the three rebels, including Gulchain Singh Charak, Prem Sagar Aziz and Abdul Gani Valik, who were issued show cause notices by the PCC disciplinary action committee on May 30 for their alleged anti-party activities, have made it clear to the high command that they were ready to face their expulsion from the party. While Abdul Gani Vakil has the patronage of Ghulam Nabi Azad, sources said that Prem Sagar Aziz and Gulchain Singh Charak have an open offer from National Conference and PDP, respectively, to join these parties with suitable position. Further, the entire third front has expressed solidarity with these three leaders and assured that in case of any action against the trio, there will be a spree of resignations in protest against the decision. Even one of three disciplinary action committee members has openly conveyed his support to the rebels. This is the reason that even after a week since the issuance of show cause notices, the rebel leaders are adamant on their stand and have refused to respond to the notices, sources explained. On the other hand, sources informed, the PCC leadership and president G A Mir are also under pressure not take any tough decision on the issue and prefer reconciliation with the rebels by addressing their grievances, if any. In the prevailing circumstances, action in unlikely against these three rebels even as a few senior leaders in the PCC are strongly in favour of expulsion of the trio to send a clear message to others in third front. |
