SRINAGAR, June 6 : The maiden District Srinagar Sambo Championship, organised by J&K Sambo Association, got underway at Indoor Complex, Baskhi Stadium, here today.
The competition was declared open by Vice Chairman of Kissan Advisory Board, J&K, Daljeet Singh Chib while Mansoor Ahmad Tranboo was guest of honour. Prominent among those present were Association vice president, Gabar Khan, manager indoor complex, Tulal Ahmed, Shafkat Shafi, Pankaj Singh, Sanjay Khajuria and Rahil Safi. The opening day witnessed competition in different weight categories of under-12 age group under the guidance of technical penal comprising Imran, Fazil, Hamir and Sanjay Khajuria.

Girls Under-12 year: 23 kg: Marsha, Ist; Munaza Zahoor, 2nd and Aaisha Tariq, 3rd. 37 kg: Aayisha Javaid, Ist; Mehvish Ashraf Muskaan, 2nd nad Riyaz, 3rd. 32 kg: Anika Rashid, Ist; Sanai Javaid, 2nd and Maira Hamid, 3rd.
