AAWAJ mourns sad demise of eminent artist 'Devi Dass' 6/6/2015 11:10:02 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 6 : AAWAJ (All Artists' Welfare Association of Jammu) today organized a memorial ceremony to mourn sad demise of eminent artist and painter of state Devi Dass Anand and paid rich tributes to the departed soul besides extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. In his condolences, Er Vijay Sharma, Chairman (AAWAJ )expressed his grief and shock over the sad demise of Devi Dass Anand. He described late soul Mr Anand as an artist of very high stature who devoted his life towards the visual art. "The vacuum created by his demise would never be filled, he said and added that his contribution towards the art shall be remain remember by the artists and the community as well. While paying homage to departed soul, Dr Kamal Sharma, President AAWAJ described late Mr Anand as beyond any comparison and added that late soul was a creative and innovative artist of the Jammu and Kashmir state and never compromise with his work throughout his life. Dr Sudhir Mahajan General Secretary AAWAJ said that Anand was a dedicated, honest and excellent artist and created many milestones in the shape of his piece of art. He recalled that late Mr Anand also designed the tableau of the state academy of art, cultural and languages got applauded for the state through his conceiving, designing and presentation and also said he infact was the rare artist of the state who motivated many youngsters to adopt the art as their livelihood. Urja Singh Slathia Vice- president and others also extended their condolences to the bereaved family. The members also observed two minutes silence and prayed to the almighty for the peace of departed soul besides conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss .
