Criticises Geelani for condemning outfit Lashker-e-Islam owns Sopore killings 6/6/2015 11:20:33 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, June 6: The militant outfit which had issued threats to mobile companies in the Valley, has claimed responsibility of killing two persons in Sopore last month. The little known organisation Lashkar-e-Islam claimed to have carried out the attacks on telecom operators saying, "tracking telecommunication network had led to killings of militants in the valley.'' The organisation also criticised hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani for his statement condemning the attacks. After killing of telecom employees in Sopore, Geelani had called the Lashkar-e-Islam, a creation of intelligence agencies to "defame freedom movement." The group justified the killings, saying one of the person killed was an "informer of army and Special Task Force (STF)," but claimed they had no intention of killing the BSNL employee. "One of the two persons whom we killed was the informer of army and STF and we have evidence. The second one was not killed deliberately. If we had intent to kill him, we would have killed all employees present there,'' the group said. In a statement, the group has urged Geelani as well as chairman of United Jehad Council (UJC) Syed Salahuddin to "investigate the existence of the outfit properly." The organisation hit out at Geelani, saying his men were involved in killing of four militant commanders in the Valley. "We have evidence about those involved in the killings." According to a local news agency, the Lashkar-e-Islam claimed, "it is the outfit of Mujahideen-e-Islam (warriors of Islam) and is active for the sake of Allah." The group has justified its action against telecommunication companies and towers, saying telecom network is a "conspiracy" and this "conspiracy has weakened armed resistance" and "also affected society adversely." "Due to telecommunication network, many militants were killed," the statement read. The organisation claimed that local militants were aware of the threat mobile phones pose, but those coming from Pakistan were unaware."Laskhar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad outfits were most affected due to this nuisance," the agency quoted the group as having said.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
