| HC issues direction to DC Anantnag regarding alleged grabbing of migrant property | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: Justice Tashi Rabstan of J&K High Court Jammu Wing in a petition filed by Prabha Wati Raina, directed Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to protect the property of petitioner strictly under the provisions of J&K Migrant Immovable Property Act 1997 and also directed him to file status report before next date of hearing. After hearing Adv SM Choudhary, the Justice Tashi Rabstan of J&K High Court Jammu Wing issued notices returnable Deputy Commissioner Anatnag and Others. Meanwhile directions were passed in a petition filed Prabha Wati Raina against state of J&K through Revenue Department, Div Com Kashmir, DC Anantnag and Ors. In the petition, filed through Advocate SM Choudhary it has been submitted that the petitioners are owners of chunk of land and because of turmoil in Kashmir valley, they migrated to Jammu. The land, according to the petitioners, is to be protected in accordance with the provisions of J&K Migrants Immovable Property Preservation, Protection and Restrained on Distress Sales Act 1997 and DC Anantnag under the Act becomes the custodian of the land in dispute. The grievances of the petitioner are that private respondents has encroached their land. |
