Jammu, June 6: The Coordination Committee- AIIMS (CC- AIIMS) held its meeting today at Chamber House Rail Head Complex Jammu under the Chairmanship of Abhinav Sharma President High Court Bar Association Jammu to review the situation arising out of the indifferent attitude of the government by not mitigating the genuine demands of people of Jammu, and informed members that future strategy of may include chain hunger strike next week, Dharnas infront of Ministers and MLAs' houses as well as their gherao
The meeting was attended by President Chamber of Commerce & Industry Rakesh Gupta, Sr Vice President CCI, Sham Lal Langer, Jr Vice President CCI, Deepak Aggarwal, Secretary General CCI Arun Gupta, Secretary CCI Rahul Mahajan and Zorawar Singh, Secretary General Press Club Jammu and members from constituents representing different Trades, Industry, Civil Society, Intellectuals and Social Organizations.
The participating members reviewed the whole situation arising out of the indifferent attitude of the government by not mitigating the genuine demands of people of Jammu and felt that the foundation of the present collation government was based on discrimination with Jammu for which the alliance agenda is a testimony. It was unanimously decided to intensify the agitation against the discrimination with the people of Jammu province ever since India got Independence.
They resolved that we shall go to any extent for the honour and dignity of People of Jammu which may include chain hunger strike next week, Dharnas infront of Ministers and MLAs' houses as well as their gherao and if necessary Jammu province will go for an indefinite shutdown as has been done before so that the genuine and logical demands of the people of Jammu meet justice. It was also decided that any one from the political parties can support the coordination committee but not as a political party but as a responsible citizen of Jammu.
Chairman Coordination committee Abhinav Sharma announced that district level committees be made as a part of ongoing agitation and designated Narayan Singh, President Amar Khatriya Rajpur Sabha as incharge district Kathua, Advocate BS Salathia, Ex President High Court Bar Association as incharge district Rajouri, Prof Hari Om Sr BJP Leader as incharge district Poonch, MS Katoch, Working President Jammu Provincial Peoples Forum as incharge Udhampur whereas Chamber of Commerce & Industry shall be the incharge of convening meetings with all districts traders associations at the same time.
Members were informed that a Finance Management committee to arrange funds to take this agitation forward and such committee comprising K B Jandial Retd IAS Officer and former member J&K Public Service Commission, Judge Pavitar Singh, (Retd) Distt & Sessions Judge, President Jammu Provincial Peoples Forum and Sham Lal Langer, Sr Vice President Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The meeting also observed two minutes silence to condole the demise of Jagjjt Singh who fell to prey to bullet during police action at Gadigarh. |
