No restrictions put in place, keeping eye on situation: Govt
Sopore fortified, people, vehicles, houses thoroughly being frisked

Srinagar, June 16 : A day after third killing in three days in Sopore by unidentified gunmen, extra security arrangements were put in place in the region with the area virtually being turned into a garrison. Reports informed that at several places in the town, barricades were put in place besides a thorough checking being intensified in this apple town of north Kashmir to catch hold of the militants who were reportedly behind the attacks that shock the region in the recent past.
It was informed that the security forces are continuously patrolling the streets with both passenger and private vehicles being frisked. Already a massive manhunt was launched by the forces to nab the militants behind the series of killings.
Reliable sources informed from Sopore that in several areas houses were also frisked and people were asked to come out of their homes for the time being. He maintained that besides the security check points created in various areas, concertina wires were also placed in the middle of various routes to halt any possible disruption of law and order.
Meanwhile, when contacted the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla said over phone that no restrictions were put in place in any area of Sopore. He said that though some minor incidents of law and order disruption took place in the region but they later were pacified. "We are keeping a close eye over the situation and that adequate security measures have already been put in place to ensure no untoward incident is reported," the DC added.
