SMVDU organizes lecture on "Nanoscience and Nanotechnology" | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 16: School of Physics of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), today organized two lectures of Padma Shri Prof. K.L. Chopra, ex-Director IIT Kharagpur on "Nanoscience and Nanotechnology" and "Nurturing Innovations and Entrepreneurship in R&D for Academia" at SMVDU. According to press release, the lecture covered various aspects of the fundamentals of nano-science and technology, need for innovations and challenges for entrepreneurs in research and development were emphasized in the latter. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. S.K. Jain, Hon'ble vice-chancellor SMVDU who is also a well-known expert in the field of entrepreneurship. Both the lectures were attended by students and faculty members from across the disciplines of science, engineering, economics and management. In his address, Prof. Chopra emphasized the need for shifting to "make in India" efforts rather than the present endeavors focused at "make for India."The much hyped demographic dividend of the country can be translated into knowledge pool through innovations and entrepreneurships only. The lecture ended with fruitful discussions on the upcoming Technology Business Incubation Centre (TBIC) at SMVDU. |
