Early Times Report Jammu, June 16: Office of the Coordinator, SPIC MACAY J&K expressed a sense of deep satisfaction with the participation of four volunteers from the state in the recently concluded 3rd International SPIC MACAY Convention at Indian Institute of Technology - Bombay (IIT-B) in Mumbai on the other day. According to spokesperson SPIC MACAY J&K chapter, Anil Sharma from Jammu, Mehraj Ud Din from Kashmir, Azhar Amin and Asrar Ahmed from Rajouri districts represented J&K and availed this lifetime opportunity. "Nearly 1800 participants gathered from all over the country and abroad to rededicate themselves to this voluntary movement during this week-long event in which over 300 artistes participated from different parts of the country, spokesperson said."A craft village was one special feature of the convention where master craftsmen sensitized the participants about the various crafts for five days, he said, adding, "screenings of cinema classics included the great works be legendary film-makers like Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray, Charlie Chaplin, Ingmar Bergman, Shyam Benegal, etc.Several talks by inspiring people and panel discussions were also organized. The convention culminated with an over-night series of concerts. |
