SCAF condemns killing of youth by police | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 22: Scheduled Caste Advocates Forum (SCAF) has condemned the murder of a scheduled caste boy Tarsem Lal by Special Operation Group in Domana area. According to press release, taking serious note of the murder a meeting of Forum members was held under the chairmanship of the advocate Inderjit Shivgotra and at Janipur. Presidents of All JK Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha, Sad Guru Kabir Sabha, Mahasa Sabha, Batwal Sabha, Sarwara Sabha, Barwala Sabha, president of the Dalit Chetna Manch, various NGO run for the development of the SC, retired employees associations also condemned the incident. All the organization jointly demanded the permanent employment to the two family members of the deceased and Rs. 10 Lakh compensation to the family. They further demanded free and fair investigation in the case by some independent agency or through some judicial officer. They said that since accused are police personal investigation through police agency may not be fair and truth should come out behind the murder. It was discussed and agreed to make a common platform of the scheduled castes by giving due representation to all the 13 castes of the scheduled castes to deal with and raise voice against all the matter of Atrocities against the scheduled castes at different level and to enforce the rights of the scheduled castes communities. They further said that no. of representations were given to the government since long for the implementation of SCs (presentation of atrocities) act, extension of 77th, 82nd and 85th amendment to the state of Jammu and Kashmir by no government has shown any serious concern to the demands of the scheduled caste community. |
