DC Kishtwar directs CEO to ensure National Anthem, morning PT in schools | | | Asif Iqbal Naik
Early Times Report Kishtwar, June 22: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan has directed Chief Education Officer Kishtwar to issue circular to introduce national anthem and physical training (PT) in morning assemblies of all educational institutions without any delay. The direction from the DDC came after Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Pareshad (ABVP), District unit Kishtwar today held a protest outside Deputy Commissioner’s Office demanding to make National Anthem compulsory in all educational institutions of the state including Kishtwar District. Later, ABVP activist called on DC Kishtwar and submitted memorandum to him highlighting the demand and importance of national anthem. When contacted, CEO Kishtwar Vinod Kumar Soni while talking to "Early Times" confirmed that DC Kishtwar had issued necessary directions with regard to issuance of circular on introduction of national anthem in schools as well as restoration of morning prayers and PT in all the schools. It is pertinent to mention that the decision with regard to introduction of National Anthem in all educational institutions was taken by ABVP during an extra ordinary meeting of the student organization held at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Kishtwar on 14-06-2014 under the Chairmanship of District President Kuljeet Shan. The meeting was also attendant by Polytechnic College Kishtwar unit, units of Higher Secondary and several others affiliated with the organization wherein organization decided that in case District administration failed to introduce National Anthem in educational institutions, ABVP Kishtwar will launch a massive agitation from today, but after DC Kishtwar accepted the demand. ABVP leadership hailed the positive response given by DC Kishtwar. |
