Baramulla blast injures 3 RAW officials | | | S.Tahir-Ul Haq
Early Times Report BARAMULLA, June 22: Three officials (AFOs) of Research and analysis wing (RAW) sustained injuries in a grenade blast at Baramulla Monday. According to reports, a blast went off inside the office of the intelligence agency around 10 a.m causing injuries to three officials. The office is located at Deewanbagh near Saint Joseph Hospital inside the army's 19 Infantry Division headquarters. The blast caused damage to the office . the injured have been identified as Ankur Nagari, Ashok Kumar and Samir Koul all are Area Field Officers (AFOs). These officials were immediately shifted to nearby military hospital where from they have been rushed to Army's 92 base Hospital in Srinagar. The condition of one of the official Ashok Kumar is said to be critical, an official said. However a senior police official said that, "the incident happened today near Dewanbagh in which three RAW officials were critically injured who were later shifted to Army's Base Hospital in Srinagar for advanced treatment. When asked about the nature of blast, he said that it was not immediately known that whether it was a grenade blast or any other kind of explosive. Meanwhile after repeated attempts General Commanding Officer (GOC) 19 Infantry Division Baramulla Raj Shukla, couldn't be contacted for his comments. |
