DDC inaugurates Model ARTO Office Complex | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, June 22: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary accompanied by RTO Jammu Ashwani Khajuria today inaugurated the Model Office Complex of Asstt Regional Transport Officer, Udhampur, providing modern facilities and reducing human interface at counters. The ARTO office has been established at spacious Sansar Palace in Jakheni Panchayat on National Highway and has more than a dozen components designed for providing hassle free services to customers and removing the role of middleman. A transparent system has been established for issuing of Driving License, permits, certificates, fitness certificates, inspections, payment of fees and others. The DDC appreciated RTO Jammu and ARTO Udhampur for their prompt response to directions issued for shifting of the office from Shiva Nagar on national highway near devika where frequent traffic jams were reported and the process of shifting has resolved a long pending public grievance. He also thanked Transport Secretary Baseer Ahmed Khan for a prompt approval for the project. He also inspected the new ARTO office including receipt section, driving license section, server room, establishment section, store room etc of the ARTO office and issued directions to the ARTO to work with dedication, sincerity and enthusiasm for the welfare of the general public. Later, he visited Trial Ground, inspected the trial pattern and procedure and also planted a tree of Alstonia spp. there at the office complex. The ARTO office is completely automated and is being upgraded for online payment of receipts for various services. There will be no entry of private persons or non-officials inside the office complex and all the services will be provided at designated counters. Special measures have been taken for services under Public Services Guarantee Act. The DDC also informed that dedicated building for ARTO office will be constructed soon as the matter is being raised in forthcoming DDB meeting. Record of more than 5000 vehicles is being automated. |
