NSUI holds protest, demands extension of carry-on system | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 4 : National Students' Union of India (NSUI), J&K held a protest demonstration against the present policy of carry-on system permitting only students who had passed 75% subjects to secure entry to the 3rd semester. Addressing protesters, Avijot singh State General Secretary said that University authorities should allow 1st semester students who had failed in more than one subject to be admitted to the next year of study enabling them to complete their studies. He demanded extension of Carry-on system and Change in 75% Subjects pass criteria as it proves detrimental to those students with backlog of two or more subjects. Sunny Parihar, District President Jammu who spoke on behalf of the agitating students also demanded the concerned authorities to revise the system. He warned the authorities that NSUI will continue its struggle till this issue is addressed. |
