Amit Shah seeks their report card, to chair crucial meet in Delhi on July 12 | BJP ministers in soup! | | Early Times Report Srinagar, July 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Amit Shah has asked the party leaders from Jammu and Kashmir to reach Delhi on July 12 to attend an important meeting to discuss the performance of the party ministers and the party's Mahasampark programme. Sources told Early Times that all the BJP leaders in Jammu and Kashmir have received the letter stating that they should reach Delhi to attend the crucial meeting. It's in place to mention here that scores of BJP leaders had met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh during his recent visit to the state and had expressed displeasure over the attitude and functioning of the BJP ministers in the state. "Many BJP leaders had told Singh that party ministers remaining inaccessible and acting like just local MLAs has brought the disrepute to the party, and high command should make it clear to them that they have to mend their ways,' said a source. He claimed a few BJP leaders had even suggested that non-performing ministers should be sacked and new faces need to be given a chance. The Union Home Minister, according to the sources, after his return to Delhi apprised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party president Amit Shah about the growing resentment within the BJP camp in Jammu and Kashmir. "The BJP leaders who are out of power have been summoned to provide the feedback about the functioning of the present dispensation. Meeting with the BJP leaders from JK would be held separately and their views and suggestions would be discussed threadbare," said a source. The BJP top brass, the party president Amit Shah and National General Secretary Ram Lal, would also meet the party ministers in the national capital and seek their report card, sources said. They said that party top brass summoning the BJP leaders suddenly has created ripples in the party as most of the ministers were not expecting that they would be called to Delhi to apprise the high command about their performance. "Most ministers have been caught off guard and they would try their best to prepare their report card in coming days," sources claimed. Sources said that Rajnath Singh has even told the Prime Minister and the party president Amit Shah that BJP ministers are acting as second fiddles and have no policy of their own. "BJP high command has taken a serious note about BJP ministers not asserting their authority and acting as junior partners in the coalition partners despite both the parties BJP and PDP having equal number of seats," the source added. Meanwhile, a senior BJP leader confirmed that the meeting would place in New Delhi on July 12. He said that the meet is aimed to strengthen the party's functioning in Jammu and Kashmir and latest developments would be discussed by the party leadership. |
