GGF remembers Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary

JAMMU, July 4: Gandhi Global Family (GGF) today remembered Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary in Jammu.
According to press release, the purpose of this impressive event was to generate awareness among youth so that they can adopt the values of Swami Vivekananda and help building strong & vibrant India.
In his opening remark, Padmashri S P Varma, Gandhi Global Family Vice President dwelt upon his contributions in promoting global values among youth.
He added that Vivekananda was a learned scholar who treated all religions equally. He gave profound importance to religious tolerance and cultural diversity and without it, our society would never grow in right direction.
Varma recalled his recent visit to Vivekananda Shrine of Great Chicago (Michigan Avenue) where the Great Monk addressed Parliament of World Religions in 1893.
He further highlighted that Swami Vivekananda had pointed out that a country's future depends on its youth and the education they receive.
He added that Vivekananda firmly believed that youth is the most potent catalyst for changing the fate of the country, and hence the future of the nation rests in their hands. Varma emphasized on character and moral based education for Young India, which Swami Vivekananda always marked in his life time.
DrTaran Singh, Secretary YHAI J&K, explained the relevance of Swami Vivekananda's teaching in present time.
On the occasion, GGF was honoured Suresh Sharma, Principal, Tagore Public Higher Secondary School, Tarore with Swami Vivekananda Puruskar for his contribution in education field.
