PGCI felicitates employees for restoration electricity supply after flood devastation | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 4: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCI), Northern Region-II, today felicitated its employees who had contributed in restoring electricity supplies in Jammu and Kashmir provinces last year subsequent to the floods that had disrupted the electric supply in both the provinces. According to press release, the employees were felicitated by SK Sharma, Executive Director Power Grid, Northern Region -II in presence of senior officers of the corporation and employees. During the occasion, Sharma complimented the employees for their outstanding contribution during this natural calamity and advised them to be remained ready for any work that may arise in the service of the nation and society. He reminded that the disruption of electricity in most of the areas of the state at that time was severe and for faster restoration, Ministry of Power had authorized Power Grid as its nodal agency to assist J&K PowerDepartment for restoration of transmission lines and distribution system, adding, "All the senior officials ofPower Grid had rushed to Srinagar and Jammu and also were established control rooms at POWERGRID offices at Gurgaon, Jammu & Wagoora", he informed. "Three transmission lines of 132 KV level in Jammu region and one in Srinagarregion were restored by deploying Emergency Restoration Systems (ERS) by Power Grid within a very short time. For distribution lines and substations restoration, teams of POWERGRID worked hand in hand with JKPDD", he said. In Srinagar, corporation has deputed around 200 personnel along with adequate numbers of Oil Filtration Machines, Transformer Oil and other Testing and commissioning equipments to closely work with JK PDD.. |
