Railway SPOs go strike; demand regularization, hike in honorarium | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Aug 1 : Special Police Officers (Railways) today alleging callous approach of the authorities towards their miseries went on indefinite strike demanding regularization and enhancement of monthly remuneration the long pending demands. Raising slogans against authorities SPOs demanded regularization and enhancement of monthly remuneration. Speaking on the occasion SPO Balbir Singh said they have completed their fixed tenure and even after 15 years of services they are still deprived off regularization. Miffed over the non serious approach of authorities, Singh said that existing insufficient remuneration does not meet their daily requirement and it becomes difficult for SPOs to survive. Criticizing BJP he said that BJP promised to redress their demands during election campaigns but it seemed that BJP has forgotten its poll promises. Alleging discrimination, Madan Mohan another protester said their counterparts (SPOs) in valley have been regularized without any particular criteria after due period ironically not a single SPO has been regularized in Jammu province which further has triggered resentment among SPOs. He said they does hard job, regularly walk throughout the track but they are unsure about their future. He sought due attention of Railways officials and government to make their service regularized. SPO Sohan Lal, alleged Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS PMO promised to enhance their remuneration whereas Dr Nirmal Singh, Dy CM announced to regularize their services when BJP would win state assembly election but nobody came ahead in this regard after won the elections. |
