| Suman Gupta to show his art works at Finish Cultural Centre | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 1: Suman Gupta, one of the well known magic realist artist of the state has been invited by the Finnish Cultural centre for a prestigious group show at Helsinki in Finland .The mega show is being organized by the Finish Cultural Center at Helsinki in which only three artists from different part of the world has been chosen to show their works in the massive galleries of the center, where each artist shall be displaying some fifteen to twenty art works in a two month long show .
Suman gupta is the sole artist representing India along with an artist from Sweden and Finland. Suman Gupta shall be exhibiting his new series of works in which he has experimented with his favorite and ancient medium egg tempera on gessoes wood panel, dry brush on paper and some intricate drawings done on paper with graphite . He is known not only for the extreme realism he brings to his paintings and drawings, but because he conveys through this extreme realism a wonderful sensitivity to light, color and space, enabling each to breathe with a tranquility that allows for the encroachments of everyday life. Interior scenes, Still life, Landscapes with hills, rivers and many elements taken from the nature which become sites for ideological interrogation that sparkle and throb with mood. It may be pertinent to mention here that Suman Gupta's work has been regularly shown by some of the important art galleries in USA, UAE and Finland besides some of the galleries he is working with in different cities of India and his work has been acquired by some of the best art collectors in the world. |
