Jammu, Aug 1: Police have arrested two narcotics smuggler alongwith 53 kgs of Bhukki (Poppy Straw) during a naka checking at near Railway Station Hiranagar of Kathua district. "The accused have been identified namely as Zakir Hussain S/o Gh. Nabi R/o Kangan Hal District Ananatnag presently Parnai, Gura Mundian Hiranagar Kathua and Jabar Hussain S/o Abdul Rashid R/o Kashwaan Koo-karnag District Ananagnag presently Kothe Gujran Reasi, police said. Police Said, "Acting on specific information, a police party of P/S Hiranagar led by SHO P/S Hiranagar laid a naka near Railway Station Hiranagar and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle bearing regd no: JK03C-0405 on suspicion basis. "During search of vehicle, police recovered 53 Kg of Bhukki (Poppy Stray) from the possession of accused duo which was arrested on the spot, police said.
A case FIR No. 72/2015 u/s 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Hiranagar while vehicle utilized for the transportation of poppy straw has also been seized by P/S Hiranagar. |
