PLA hosts Indian army at DBO | Hindi, Cheeni Bhai Bhai | | Javaid Naikoo

Srinagar, Aug 1: As part of settling border disputes amicably, the Indian army created history by holding the first ever meet with Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) today. The meeting was held in the Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) area along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh division. After lot of chaos and commotion over the years over border disputes, the maiden meet is considered a milestone in India-China relationship at the border-troops level. According to details the Indian delegation was led by Colonel BS Uppal and the Chinese delegation by Colonel Song Zhoanli. As the PLA hosted Indian Army delegation for the first time in the area of Daulat Beg Oldie. According to details the maiden meet was marked by a salute to the Chinese flag and was later followed by ceremonial addresses by the leaders of the both delegations. Experts believed that proceedings reflected the mutual desire of both nations of maintaining and improving relations at a functional level at the border which otherwise create chaos for people of both the countries. The occasion according to details was also welcomed with a cultural programme showcasing Chinese culture and tradition and today it particularly organized to mark the special occasion hosted by PLA. During the progaramme the delegations of both nations interacted in a cordial and congenial environment and it was maintained that such events shall continues to happen in future as well. According to a statement of Defence Spokesman "the delegation parted amidst a feeling of friendship and commitment towards enhancing the existing cordial relations and maintaining peace along the LAC." The spokesman said that "a ceremonial BPM on the occasion of PLA Day was conducted today at Chinese BPM Hut in Moldo Garrison in Chushul Sector of Eastern Ladakh." Many unresolved issues between India and China particularly disputes more often creates shaky ripples among two nations and reports of violations by PLA continues to flourish from Ladakh and other border areas. Reports of PLA crossing over to this side of border in ladakh division emerged many a times last year. In one such incident Indian and Chinese troops last year locked in an over three-week long stand-off in the Chumar and Demchok areas of eastern Ladakh which was later resolved by way of an understanding between the Army of two sides to carry out disengagement and redeployment of border troops to restore the status quo. Experts believe that maiden meet of Indian Army and PLA today will go a long way in establishing peace along the borders. |
