Jammu, Sept 15: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) expressed the serious concern over the violence and unfurling of Pakistan flags during the half Marathon in Kashmir. ABVP State Organizing Secretary, Pawan Sharma condemned the clash, which broke out after pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in 'Big Kashmir Marathon' at Hazratbal in Srinagar, saying that it was an attempt by anti-national elements to disrupt peace in the valley. Pawan Sharma stated that the objective of the marathon was to create awareness about various social issues including importance of following road traffic regulations, conservation of water bodies, keeping environment clean, and respecting elders but some anti-social elements tried to sabotage this event organized for such a noble cause. Such type of anti-national activities in much publicized International level event and in educational institutes is a great threat to the peace among the society of J&K and the time has come for the J&K's civil society and emancipated citizens to rise against acts of such hooliganism which have put the whole society to shame, said Pawan Sharma. |
