GPC celebrates Engineer Day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 15: Government Polytechnic College, Jammu paid tribute to M. Visvesvaraya, an Indian engineer, scholar and Bharat Ratna Awardee on the eve of Engineer Day. According to press release, the event was inaugurated by lightening of lamp and key note address by Er. Ritu Jamwal, Principal of the Institute. She motivated the young scientific minds to come forward for technological innovation, growth and prosperity as engineering has been an important driver of this innovation. During her speech she focussed on scientific principles with practically oriented research that create ways of acquiring new knowledge. A debate competition was organized on the topic "Role of Engineers versus Non-Engineers" during which the students show-cased their talent and creative skills. The first prize was bagged by Ronak Pal Singh, second prize by Tanvi Anthal and third prize was won by Kanishak. Others present on the occasion were Er. Inderjeet Singh Workshop Superintendent, Er. K S Bhatia HOD Mechanical, Er. Zia Ul Haq HOD Computer Engineering, Er. Deepika Sharma Lecturer Computer Engineering, Er. Rishab Gupta and Er Mohammed Shabir. |
