PMO asks Chief Secretary to look into farmers' issues | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 15: The minister of state (MOS) in Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has directed the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary to look into the issues of farmers in the state. The PMO directed the Chief Secretary B R Sharma on the petition of Partap Singh Jamwal (State Secy. BJYM). In the petition, partap had requested the PMO to implement the KCC loan waive off scheme on the farmers of far-off area Jammu and Kashmir who have suffered damages on the flash floods of 2014. Pertinently, the state govt. had assured to waive off the KCC loan to those farmers who had taken amount less than Rs 1lakh by 50% amount of the total amount taken. Partap had requested the PMO to review this decision and implement the scheme on all farmers of the state suggesting reduction of waive off limit by 30% of the amount taken as loan.
