| Laddan locals allege NC leader of grabbing 'cremation ground land' | | | Udhampur, Sept 21: Locals from Laddan of Udhampur district today alleged that senior NC leader has purchased a land falling under the cremation ground of particular community and staged a demonstration to register their protest. A large number of locals from Laddan Power House locality today staged a protest demonstration against senior NC leader Ram Parshotam alleging that he had purchased a land which was donated some elderly of locality for performing last rituals. Sarpanch Vinod Kumar said that people from Laddan, Pakhlai and Osukera have come here to protest against the alleged purchase of crematorium. Locals also questioned the land mutation can be done in favour of the person (NC leader) hailing from Jandra. "The land belongs to us (people of Laddan) and I have witnessed this from last many decades, said an octogenarian Jodh Ram. Later locals also have taken up the matter with Revenue Department and Sapna Kotwal (Tehsildar) who visited the spot. Meanwhile official said documents indicate land belongs to Ram Parshotam but department will scrutinize the documents and revenue records following locals objections.
