4 bovine smugglers held, 23 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 21: In a drive against the bovine smuggling, Rajouri police foiled fresh bovine smuggling bids at different places across the district with the arrest of four bovine smugglers and rescuing 23 bovine animals besides seizure of three vehicles including a motor cycle. Police spokesperson said, "On the intervening night of September 20/21, Inspector Narinder Singh, SHO Thananamandi under the directions from SDPO laid a naka at Chrung Bridge near Thanamandi town. "Police team intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing regd No JK21A-0686 on its way to Srinagar via Mughal Road carrying nine (09) bovine animals without due permission. "Police seized the vehicle and arrested Mohd Hanief r/o Rajdhani (Thanamandi) after he failed to requisite documents to carry animals from one district to another," police said. Police added that a case under FIR No149/15 stands registered against the accused Later today morning at the same police naka team intercepted a truck bearing regd no JK11-2399 and rescued seven (07) animals being taken to Srinagar from Rajouri Police seized the truck along with animals and bovine smugglers. Similarly Rajouri SHO, Yashpal Singh under the supervision of Ch Hamid, DySP on the intervening night of September 20/21 intercepted a bovine smugglers carrying 04 bovine animals near village Muradpur on Jammu-Poonch highway being taken to Srinagar by two smugglers (on the Motor Cycle bearing regd no JK0AS-7699). "The duo has been identified as Yassar Hussainb and Mohd Sahil both resident of Behrote (Thanamandi) who were arrested on the spot," police said adding, "a case under FIR NO 475/15 u/s 188RPC & 3PCA stands registered against accused." |
