Absenteeism in Government schools on rise

DODA, Oct 12: Absenteeism among teachers is increasing in rural areas of district Doda as frequent complaints of teachers not performing their duties regularly especially in remote areas are being received.
In a similar case residents of Hanch falling under the jurisdiction of zone Ghat have alleged that one teacher namely Mohd Ashraf Bhatt posted in Government Primary School, Hanch often remains absent from the school. No attention is being paid to the students enrolled in the school.
Shahzad Hussain, a local reported that the said teacher is habitual of remaining absent from school and due to his non serious attitude the career of the innocent children is at stake. He said that despite repeated appeal by the parents the teacher is least bothered about the future of the students. Shahzad Hussain added that even the higher authorities show leniency towards the erring officials. He said that when approached, the concerned authorities do not take immediate appropriate action in such cases.
