Pseudo intellectuals spreading lies, 'Article 35-A has got nothing to do with Art 370' | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 12: So called 'pseudo intellectuals' and separatists in Kashmir are preparing ground for one more unrest and they have started conveying it to the people that they should get ready for a "decisive battle' as JK's special status is in danger. A few pseudo intellectuals organized a Round Table Conference (RTC) in Srinagar on Sunday and deliberated upon the pros and cons of the Article 35-A, which has been challenged by a New Delhi based NGO and would come up for hearing in Supreme Court next month. These intellectuals during their discussion gave an impression that if Article 35-A is scrapped JK's special status would go and anyone would be allowed to come and settle down in Kashmir. "The Article 35-A is a provision that is not in the constitution of India. Instead it is an Article in application of the provisions of the constitution of India applicable to the State. This provision arose out of the need of compulsion of limited accession of J&K with Union of India," said a legal expert. He said the Article 35 A has lost its validity as it was implied long ago. "The NGO which has challenged the legality of Article has mentioned in the writ petition that this Article should be scrapped as Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and it has been acknowledged by one and all," the legal expert added. He said that some people in Kashmir are trying to link it with Article 370 and are propagating that if this Article is done away with, outsiders would have right to jobs and right to acquire property in the State. "The NGO which has filed the petition to seek revocation of the Article 35-A as it points towards third party mediation, which long back has become null and void," the expert added. He said, "I fail to understand how Article 370 and Art 35-A, are co-related. These people are indulging in false propaganda and want to create trouble by propagating theories which hold no ground." Another legal expert said, "Article 35-A has become irrelevant and the Apex Court won't have any objection in revoking it. People who are trying to link it with Article 370 are misleading the masses. The Article 35-A would have been applicable along with United Nations resolutions, when these resolutions have become irrelevant why we need Article 35-A is a million dollar question." He said, "It seems conspiracy is being hatched to stir trouble in Kashmir and a few people are leaving no stone unturned to trigger yet another controversy. Even if Supreme Court scraps Article 35-A it won't have any impact on JK's special status. I hope people understand that attempts are being made to hoodwink them." |
