KATHUA, Oct 12:A team of Legal Metrology Department Kathua headed by the Assistant controller Legal Metrology Kathua Ajay Verma and comprising of the Inspector Legal Metrology Kathua and Dayalachack Vicky Sharma and Devi Lakhanpuria conducted intensive checking of various Business Establishments especially at Haria chak, Haripur, Chadwal, Billawar, Deval, Koota Morh, Hiranagar, Hatli Morh Kathua, Kathua Town and adjoining areas . During the week long drive approximately 51 establishments were inspected and penalty of Rs 15100 was imposed on eight traders for violation of various provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Enforcement Act 1997and Package Commodities Rules .
The Department directed all the traders to use only verified Weights and Measures for Business transactions and display MRP, PKD, Net Contents and complete address and Customer care Number on the Commodities to be sold in package Form. |
