Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 12: Apropos to the news item published in October 6, 2015 issue of the Early Times under the caption - Another BJP leader grabs forest land at Sunjwan - BJP leader Ghulam Ali has sought to clarify that he has not at any stage of his life encroached upon even an inch of the forest or state land at Sunjwan.
In a statement issued here today, he said he "has been quoted wrongly as the forest land grabber in the news report".
Ghulam Ali, however, said the land in question was in possession of his family for over a century and its kind is Waryal Dhom (agriculture land). "Mine is a big family and being the youngest, I still stay with my mother. Since no land or ancestral property at Sunjwan has yet been transferred in my name, the question of encroachment of forest land does not arise at all," he said.
"I enjoy a good reputation in my party and at Sunjwan, so I would never indulge in any unlawful activity to spoil my public image," Ghulam Ali said.
