Shocker! Ambulance converted into taxicab in Kulgam | | | Early Times Report
Kulgam, Oct 12: A driver of an ambulance of the J&K Health Department was on Monday caught on the camera ferrying passengers in Kulgam district of south Kashmir. The driver took advantage of the strike called by Kashmiri traders against attack on some truckers in Udhampur and used the ambulance (bearing registration number JK18/3374) to ferry passengers from one place to another. The driver, whose identity could not be ascertained when this report was filed, was also found taking 'fare' from the passengers. Reports said the Health Department has taken a strong notice of the incident and is likely to take action against the erring driver. The Health Department people and their families, including the minister concerned Chowdhary Lal Singh, are often found using ambulances for personal use. Notably, the Heath Department issued an order some weeks ago banning use of ambulances for other than patient care. |
